Loka Tua the place of the ancestors
Loka Tua is the place of ancestors where the community gathers before an important ceremony. It is a space of preparation and conversation, of shared cups of coffee and slow sipping of moke, the traditional palm liqueur passed from hand to hand.
Grown in the Ngada highlands this coffee carries the spirit of coming together.
In the cup it opens with the crisp of apple and pinapple bright and alive like voices slowly rising in the dialogue. As it settles sweet orange unfolds, followed by warmth of raisin, bringing depth and balance to the moment. In the finish a gentle liqueur-like character lingers echoing the presence of moke within the Loka Tua. More than a coffee this is a moment of Loka Tua, a place where tradition lived, shaped and passed forward
